<\/figure>\n\n\n\nAndreas M\u00fcller-Pohle is a Berlin-based media artist and publisher. He studied economics and communication sciences and in 1979 founded European Photography, an independent art magazine for contemporary photography and new media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His early work addressed visualist topics, later turning to photo recycling, and from the mid-1990s he explored digital, genetic, and political codes. Since 2005 he has devoted himself to extensive projects on water, including the Danube and Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has been widely exhibited and collected internationally. As a publisher, he has edited the ten-volume Edition Flusser, including the seminal Philosophy of Photography. He received the European Photography Prize in 2001 and has taught at institutions including the Higher Institute of Fine Arts, Antwerp, and the Hong Kong Design Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 2023 he has focused on artificial intelligence, with projects such as Ni\u00e9pce Recoded (2024) and Robots. A Speculative Compendium (2026). His archive and a substantial number of his works are part of the collection of the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gueari Galeri (Andi Ari Setiadi and Caron Toshiko)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Initiated in 2014 by Andi Ari Setiadi (Left) and Caron Toshiko (Right), Gueari Galeri is an independent photobook gallery and publisher based in Jakarta, Indonesia, focusing on personal stories and artisanal photobook production. Since its founding, Gueari Galeri has published more than 60 photobook titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Andi Ari Setiadi is a photobook artist and graphic designer who has designed hundreds of photobooks. In 2025, his artist’s photobook titled Ngombe Dhisik was shortlisted for the 2025 LUMA Rencontres Dummy Book Award at Rencontres d’Arles. Caron Toshiko is a photo researcher and therapeutic photography practitioner. She is currently pursuing doctoral research focused on gender and decolonisation in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London. Together, Ari and Caron also conduct artist photobook-making workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Kurt Tong<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Kurt was born in Hong Kong in 1977 and earned his MA in Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication in 2006. His projects explore his Chinese roots and understanding of his motherland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Since then, he has published several monographs exploring themes ranging from Chinese funeral offerings to the Asian diaspora to self-combed women. His work has been shown worldwide, including exhibitions at the Himalayas Museum in Shanghai, the Finnish Museum of Photography, and Rencontres d\u2019Arles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious Prix Elysee and released Dear Franklin<\/em>, an epistolary novel about a tragic love story during WWII in China. MOMA New York named it one of the best photo books of 2022. With the support from Mus\u00e9e du quai Branly, Kurt recently completed Cult of Illusion<\/em>, a satirical performative project on superstition and manipulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Michelle Chan<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Michelle Chan (@little.rice) is a relational artist whose practice centres on photography, text, and books as forms of connection. Through collaborative processes, she works with participants to explore everyday experiences, memory, and shared narratives. Her recent projects include books of qi<\/em> and Kaufu<\/em>, and her latest collaborative project, Mandarin and Her Route 41<\/em>, is an artist photo-text book self-published in 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n She is the founder of 1:1 studio and co-founder of Phoboko, where she curates exhibitions and reading rooms, and facilitates workshops and gatherings that position photobooks as spaces for dialogue, connection, and collective exchange. Recently, she facilitates participatory workshops that work with the book not only as an object but as a score for participation: content acts as the score, pages become spaces for engagement that hold a collective story, idea, or feeling, making the book itself become a site of encounter and relation-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Zhen SHI<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Zhen SHI is a Paris-based publisher, the founder and director of La Maison de Z, a French independent publishing house and cultural platform connecting visual art, publishing, and the art economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Working across photography, text, and experimental publishing, she approaches the book as both a research method and an artistic medium. Her practice examines how images are transformed, reconstructed, and perceived anew in book form, with a particular interest in memory and reality, archives and fiction, the private and the public, and individual experience and collective memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through La Maison de Z, she develops publications, exhibitions, and public conversations around the art economy, bringing editorial thinking, material experimentation, and long-term collaboration into dialogue while exploring how cultural content can continue to create value today.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n *in no particular order<\/p>\n\n\n\n Beatrix Pang (they\/them) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Beatrix Pang (they\/them) explores self-publishing as a site for community building and radical artistic expression. Their practice engages with zine-making, artist books, and community archives as accessible platforms for collective learning\u2014from founding Small Tune Press (2011) to co-founding ZINE COOP (2017), Queer Reads Library (2018), and Migrant Workers Library (2024). In 2022, they were in residence at WMA Space for Queer Reads Library’s research project Fill in the Blanks: Queer Print Culture in Hong Kong; in 2020, they developed virtual zine-based pedagogical methods for Asia Art Archive. Pang received The Starr Foundation Fellowship from Asian Cultural Council (New York, 2008) and the inaugural LOEWE Foundation \/ Studio Voltaire Award (London, 2023\u20132024), with a community project presented by iniva. Their work has been exhibited locally and internationally at Tai Kwun Contemporary, Para Site, Art Basel Hong Kong, Art Sonje Center, and the Chinese Culture Center, and is held in the Sunpride Foundation collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Charis Poon<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Charis Poon is an artist and educator who makes zines, audio pieces, draws comics, writes, and teaches. Across these media, her practice focuses on the everyday, on contemplation, on close relationships. Charis worked as a freelance graphic designer and editor for most of her professional career, with forays in creative strategy and podcasting. After finishing her MA in Design Expanded Practice at Goldsmiths University of London, she moved back to Hong Kong, where she calls home. Now, she teaches Social Design at the PolyU School of Design where she experiments with how teaching and learning takes place. She is interested in poetics in communication, learning through making, slow growth, and collective endeavors.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Paul Yeung <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Paul Yeung Tak-ming is a freelance photographer, an educator and a curator. Yeung embarked on his profession as a photojournalist and photo editor and received numerous photography awards in the past 20 years. His contemporary works mostly concern social situation expressed in a humorous sense and are interested in the genres, narrative and appropriation of photographic language. He published his first photobook \u201cYes Madam, Sorry Ah Sir\u201d in 2017.
